The Iliad of Homer Who is Homer?

Menelaus, The greatest, The noblest, and The Most Honorable Man

Between Paris and Menelaus, who do you consider as a
nobler/greater/more honorable man?

· What incidents support your answer?
· Who can be cited as a modern day Paris/Menelaus? Why?

If I were to choose between Menelaus or Paris, I would definitely choose Menelaus. Why? Its because Menelaus wants to fight FAIR. I'm not being Biased or something, just because he won Helen over but because the Great Image that He portrays. In addition, Menelaus is the original husband of Helen. Paris caused everything, Chaos, War, and all the Improper behavior of the People. If Paris is Noble, He shouldn't have taken a wife from another man even if Helen is the prize or something.

Lets say both of them are the strongest, but who won? Menelaus. It simply means that Menelaus is far more stronger than Paris. It is seen in the Third book that Paris is really - lets say No Good or nothing against Menelaus. Menelaus fought without having the Help of the Gods and defeated Paris. And Paris asked helped from other Gods to have his victory against Menelaus.

Lastly, Menelaus is far more honorable and noble than Paris because he wants to have his Wife back, Helen even though Helen is in Loneliness and Disgraced. He does everything he can just to have his wife back in his arms.

Well, can you say that he can be a Noble Man? With everything he has done? I don't think so.

In the present time, I can compare Menelaus to my Father who would do everything just to have his Family Back. We've already been in several misunderstandings and I can say that my Father is a great example of a very Noble man, he is very determined and ready to fight to protect us from anything that can harm his Family.
